Comment on How I Sharpen Wildlife Photos Using Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop 2020 by Trent Sizemore https://www.blog.trentsizemore.com/how-i-sharpen-wildlife-photos-using-adobe-lightroom-classic-and-photoshop-2020/#comment-4267 Fri, 09 Apr 2021 22:15:33 +0000 https://trentsizemore.com/learn/?p=5919#comment-4267 In reply to Tucker Keerbs.

I’d recommend at least 800mm, preferably 1200mm for the closest shots. 600mm f/4 and 2x extender would be best.

I love really close shots. That’s why most of my shots come from animals in parks or zoos. If I were at Yellowstone what size lens would I need to be safe and get the shots I like?

Comment on Common Misconceptions in Wildlife Photography by Alan https://www.blog.trentsizemore.com/common-misconceptions-in-wildlife-photography/#comment-4053 Tue, 02 Feb 2021 09:56:20 +0000 https://trentsizemore.com/learn/?p=5201#comment-4053 Interesting article, with many wise words.
We all want photos that we can show to friends, or post on a
Facebook Page and hope people say “WOW, what a great
picture “. In reality the only person you need to please is
yourself. I don’t buy magazines as I dislike most of the
photos they print. I don’t like pictures of water taken with an
ND filter, or those with a green sky and red grass, to me they look silly.

Would love to learn how to edit my wildlife photos! Thanks so much!

I’m considering upgrading to this from the EOS R even though I haven’t had this long. I love the animal eye focusing. Do you ever find the moving focus point to get annoying and not focus on what you want? And does it work the same way on video. That’s one thing I have issues with in video as the focus point changes away from the animal a lot when it’s moving through a forest. I may just need to learn the camera more, but I’d love to have a button I can use to hold focus once I get it in video and release it as I need to refocus.

What are the best, but least expensive CF express cards that you have found? I’m filling my shopping cart, and ready to buy! I’ll be in the park a couple of times next month- hope to run into you!

That Sony is good as well! I know at least a few people using that setup with the 200-600 as well.
